36 The Calls could be a symbol of great design for Yorkshire, something to be proud of, something to make people stop and stare. Citu, development managers, are running this competition in two stages to ensure 36 The Calls becomes exactly what it deserves to be.
The objective is to develop this prominent river side site in Leeds City Centre with a view to delivering a landmark development, worthy of it's location between some of the most photogenic buildings in Leeds on this prestigious waterfront site.
The objective is to deliver an outstanding development, which not only realises the potential of this site, but embraces the waterfront in Leeds. The design should be for a high quality sustainable development delivered to high architectural standards.
This is a two stage open competition for an inspirational design for the site:
Stage One: we are inviting competitors to submit their responses to the brief in electronic form on Microsoft Powerpoint of not more than 4 slides in total.
Stage Two: up to six finalists will be asked to attend an interview to present their proposals. The jury panel will notify each contestant of the panel's comments on their design and any points which should be addressed.
The competition is open to registered architects. In order to enter the competition you will need to register your details with Citu and pay a £35.00 registration fee.
The programme, which may be subject to change, is:
- Deadline for questions: 25th November 2009
- Submission deadline: 16th December 2009
- Judging: January 2010
- Interviews of finalists: February 2010
- Notification of Winner: 25th February 2010
