The oil-producing emirate of Abu Dhabi signed an agreement with France to build a new Louvre
Museum in its country. Construction of the new venue, that will be
named Louvre Abu Dhabi, is starting this year and will end by 2012. In
exchange for that "exporting", France is going to receive about 1,000
million euros. The building, designed by Jean Nouvel, will be carried out on Saadiyat island, together with three other megaplans, taking up 24,000 square meters, 8,000 of whom for exhibitions. [Clarín / ELPAIS.com / Guardian]. Images >>>
